Deck the halls everyone!  The city is sparkling with holiday delight and last week we were wearing shorts. This seems to sum up the unexpected year of excitement we've experienced, and we can only imagine what 2007 has in store for us all. This is our first newsletter to keep you updated on what the Dora Mae team is up to! Dora Mae Productions is an independent film and theatre production company comprised of 4 partners who also happen to be a family. A writer/director, a writer/film editor, a filmmaker/writer, and an actress/comedian/writer, we started out in NYC theatre writing and producing full length plays, one- act festivals, solo performance, and comedy variety shows. As time marched on and the film industry began screaming for quality materiel, we ventured into filmmaking and have produced several projects for the industry including short film, feature length, promos, commercials, and music videos.

Our feature film, THE LAST CHRISTMAS PARTY, has been the main course this year. Hours and hours and hours of incredible footage sorted through and pieced together. Proudly, after 11 months, we are almost finished with the visual editing and can soon move on to sound.

Meanwhile, promotion has begun for the movie. Talks of a tour next summer to promote the film. How you ask? Word of mouth. We want to show this film to anyone who will have us and then host a Q & A session afterwards. We're sure most of the questions from the audience will be, "You're insane. How did you do this in 8 nights?" We can't WAIT to answer that one! The whole promotional tour will be shot as a documentary.

A new solo show has been born! Butterfly Suicide made its debut at the Gene Frankel Theatre on Monday, November 27th. Groove Mama Ink and Bricken Sparacino produced an incredible week of female work. The whole week was their first annual Wonder Woman Week. On Monday night, Sam Lally hit the stage with pieces written by herself and Rebecca. Direction by Debbie was stellar, once again! Jeannine ran all of the tech and designed the sound.

There are talks of a full length version being produced this Spring. We'll keep you updated!

November was an exciting month for music in our world. Lindsay Rae Spurlock came to town to promote our movie. Her new hit song November is featured in the movie. She rocked out at the Knitting Factory and The Bitter End. The buzz around the room was unreal. She was compared to Tori Amos, The Cranberries, and Bjork.

Dan Grennes wrote a song for our movie that will just blow your brains out and make your heart jump out of your chest. Its called Advantages of Getting to Know you.  Check out his band Uncle Pumpkin.
